The principles on which the organisation evaluates its engagements are: Democracy in governance Transparency in decision making Stress on: o Leadership rather than 'management' o Balancing results and processes Janvikas has always set its eyes on creating support systems for poor, marginalized and disadvantaged communities who are seeking their rights as well as for those individuals who are seeking a more meaningful social existence. Based on this understanding, the following objectives are formed: o Relating creatively with individuals/groups and state organizations to increase access of the poor marginalized and disadvantaged communities to their legitimate rights. o Generating open-ended systems that provide space and scope for the creative involvement of more and varied individuals and institutions to empower the poor marginalized and disadvantaged communities. o Fostering individual creativity along with group accountability at all levels of organizations o Creating conditions for lateral linkages between organizations, giving rise to a federation that can network constructively within itself as well as with the external environment to change an unjust order.
