Kenya faces a significant challenge in providing essential services like therapy and nutrition to children with disabilities, especially those in low-income areas. Our project focuses on bridging this gap by offering occupational therapy and nutritious food packages to children with autism in both urban and rural low-income communities. Your donation not only supports these children's well-being but also makes you a certified ambassador for their needs.
In Kenya, autism is rapidly becoming one of the most prevalent developmental disorders. Unfortunately, many children with autism face neglect and abandonment from their parents due to societal stigma and the financial strain of raising a child with special needs. While the government has implemented commendable disability policies, there remains a critical gap in providing adequate therapy and support programs, particularly for children with autism. Our project aims to take in 500 children.
Our project offers comprehensive support to children with autism by providing free therapy sessions per week, along with essential provisions such as food and medication when needed. Additionally, we offer respite care to ensure the well-being of both the children and their caregivers. Parents and caregivers receive invaluable support through free counseling sessions, education on home-based therapy techniques, and guidance on managing autism throughout their children's development into adults
Our project has a significant impact, reaching 1000 parents and 500 children. Through free expert therapy for the children, parents gain valuable knowledge about autism, leading to improved health outcomes for their children. This empowerment also fosters economic independence among parents, enabling them to better care for their children with autism. As a result, these children are able to grow into adulthood, participate in everyday activities, and contribute meaningfully to society.
