Due to the inability to raise sufficient funds for this project, we will be retiring the project.
This borehole project was proposed to reduce the outbreaks of water borne diseases and will change the economy and health of the community for the better, like improving the health standards in the schools and markets, improving development and the environment. We were also hoping to educate the girls and women and enlist the support of community leaders in Support Clubs for sustainability.
Apologies that we cannot achieve this goal. We assure that your donation will still go towards another similar cause verified by our team.

Stakeholder Consultation and Project Initiation
By Francis Eghehan - Project coordinator
Thanks for your support to help us provide computer sets and other accessories for printing to enhance digital literacy at Our Lady Mother of Perpetual Help Primary/Secondary School & orphanage Home.
The above named organization is a community based center that caters for orphans and runs a school in their facility. A sister NGO was notified by the president of civil society association of Nigeria (CISAN), Rivers state chapter, of an appeal from an orphanage center that runs a school in need of assistance on digital literacy training for students in the school. This sister NGO happens to be one of our partners in Port Harcourt who have assisted us in two of our outreach campaigns; hence I was able to visit and conduct a needs assessment.
The uniqueness of this project is the fact that orphans would have opportunity to access digital literacy for free while other people from the community will pay to acquire computer skills. More income will be generated when they are able to print test and exams question from their facility, thereby ensuring sustainability.
ACTION TAKEN SO FAR
1. We have met key stakeholders to get their support to fund the project during crowd funding opportunity

> Parents of some selected students
2. Acquisition and commissioning of computers set, UPS, printer and scanner, modem for browsing, and other accessories for the pilot scheme.
3. Follow up with school administration to set steps towards project sustainability and scalability.
Thank you once again.

OUTCOME OF SCOUTING 25 SCHOOLS ACROSS 5 LGAs
By Roberts Ukaigwe - Project Coordinator
The scouting of schools for the HAPPY LEARNERS PROJECT is indeed a tasking one as it required real screening across board for effective execution. This is done so as to meet the objective of the project and also meet the need of the schools and community that needs this project. The actualization of this stage of the project is attributed to the formidable planning done by the PROJECT ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT TEAM (PAMT) while the SCOUT AND LOGISTICS MANAGER (SLM) executed the task by carrying out the field work of travelling across the 5 LGAs to pick the selected 25 Schools for the Project.
The scouting of schools for the project was temporarily placed on hold because of security challenges experienced which limited access in some of the LGAs and restricted movement to such locations. For several weeks, the State Government placed between 12 – 24hour curfews in these locations to for public safety due to communal clashes and violence. This decision slowed down the work and contributed to the late submission of the scout report. When the situation of things calmed down the scouting process was completed. The following Local Government Areas and the schools under them were visited by the Scout and Logistics Manager. The 25 Schools for Happy Learners Project are ready.
1. CHIKUN LGA UBE CHIKUN STREET UBE UNGWAN BORO UBE SABO TASHA TOPAS SCHOOL UBE JANRUWA
2. KADUNA SOUTH LGA UBE KAKURI UBE TELEVISION HEYIK INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL UBE NARAYI UBE BARNAWA
3. KAJURU LGA UBE MARABA RIDO UBE KASUWA MAGANI LIVING INT’L SCHOOL GREEN LIGHT INT’L SCHOOL UBE KUJAMA
4. KADUNA NORTH UBE MAIDUGURI ROAD UBE GWARI ROAD UBE MANDO KURIGA INT’L SCHOOL TIME NUR/PRI SCHOOL
5. ZARIA LGA SAIDU LGEA LEMU LGEA AMINA LGEA TOTAL CHILD NUR/PRI SCHOOL GOLDEN CHILD NUR/PRI SCHOOL
The Scout Manager encountered some challenges; this is seen in the behavior of the school stakeholders towards contribution on the project. While this reflects the crowd funding process of the project, it also showcases the prevalent mindset of most people from this region. Even though the stakeholders’ attitude toward financial donation is not positive, they are happy to have their schools in the list of those to be visited. Attached are some of the pictures from the school visited.
