Fix a Fleece - Casa Youth Shelter, Los Alamitos
We at the 4GIRLS Organization have been very busy at work since we launched our Global Giving campaign back in December!
First and foremost, we have been actively planning our upcoming Annual Workshop on April 16th & 17th in Long Beach, CA. This year’s theme is “Powerful” and we are excited about the content of the program that has been designed to support the theme. Soon enough, we will begin planning for the inaugural workshop in August for our new Anaheim/Santa Ana chapter!
We have also been busy with a couple of our monthly Empowerment Events. On January 26th, we participated in a “Fix a Fleece” community service event at Casa Youth Shelter. The girls made blankets for the youths staying at the shelter and were able to tour the facility and learn about their terrific program. Then on February 6th, the girls had the opportunity to make bracelets and necklaces with empowering words at The Family Store in Long Beach. At 4GIRLS, we believe that we create our world with our words so it was inspiring to see the positive and uplifting words the girls chose for themselves.
And, finally, we have embarked on a partnership with author, Linda El Awar, who has written a terrific leadership book called, Graduating from Google: Leadership Lessons. A portion of the proceeds of each book sold will be donated to 4GIRLS! The book can be found on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Graduating-Google-Leadership-Linda-Awar/dp/1523848111.
Thank you all for your support and sponsorship of our organization! Since everything that we do is offered at no cost to the girls we certainly could not do this without you!
