Middle school is a difficult transition period for both boys and girls. However, studies show that girls are more likely to struggle during this time, particularly when it comes to self-esteem. And, girls with low self-esteem often make poor choices and engage in negative and potentially life-altering behaviors.
4GIRLS equips middle-school girls with the knowledge and tools to help them make good life choices. Through a combination of activities, instruction and mentoring, this program teaches girls to view themselves as inherently powerful, valuable and beautiful. Feedback about the benefits of the program from both the girls and their parents or guardians has been overwhelmingly positive - "Thank you so much for giving me a whole lot of life lessons. This makes me stronger and confident."
When girls are inspired, they are motivated and stretch their goals and challenge themselves, which leads to accomplishing some extraordinary things. When girls are empowered, they make better life choices, which leads to better life outcomes that benefit not only them, but also their future families and communities. In 2019, this project will inspire and empower approximately 250 middle-school girls, benefitting them directly and benefitting numerous others in their lives indirectly.
