Save 250,000 Children from Pneumonia
Antibiotics can be a lifesaver for children in the developing world. They fight off pneumonia and other infections common among children in poorer areas of the world. Medicines we might take for granted, as they are available at every corner pharmacy, are beyond reach for many of the worlds children. Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of child deaths in the developing world, taking 2,500 lives a day. Antibiotics can change this staggering statistic.

In Kenya, 73 children out of 1,000 births die before age five age each year from preventable and treatable conditions. Fighting the Zika Virus
CNN is reporting that the mosquito born Zika virus is "now spreading explosively" in Central and South America. Within Latin America and the Caribbean, Bolivia has the third highest rate of child mortality for children under age five with 30% of children under age three being chronically malnourished. Ecuador Earthquake: Medical Relief
On the evening of Saturday, April 16th a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook the coastal region of Ecuador. The death toll is nearing 700 and the Ecuadorian President has declared it a state of emergency. MAP has two Interagency Emergency Health Kit that will treat 10,000 people for 90 days as well as additional medicines to treat 62,500 people airlifting to Ecuador on 04.49.16 and 250 Water filters in route as well.
Female Empowerment Project: Uganda Dormitory
MAP's Female Empowerment Project meets four of the eight Millennium Development Goals: Achieve Universal Primary Education, Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women, Improve Maternal Health and Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases. Nepal Earthquake Medical Aid
MAP International is responding to the massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal this morning and has caused widespread devastation in the region with 6.6 million people affected. MAP International is airlifting in an IEHK (Interagency Emergency Health Kit) that will treat 10,000 people for 90 days. Other medical shipments to Nepal are underway as well.
