Summary

Educating children who are at-risk is the key to providing them with employment opportunities in the future. This helps to break the cycle of poverty and give children the tools to become self-sufficient adults.

Challenge

A lack of education for at-risk children in Thailand results in a repeat of the cycle of violence, drug abuse, and unemployment. Education is the key to employment, and our children would not have the opportunity to be educated in their previous environment.

Solution

This project provides children with school fees, resources and school uniforms to enable them to attend school through to secondary school completion.

Long-Term Impact

This project addresses the needs of over 350 children that Hands supports across Thailand in seven homes. Nearly twenty years of operation have seen us educate hundreds of children, and currently, we have twenty-three students who are currently studying at university - setting these children up for professional careers.

Additional Documentation

This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
