Our Mission At Biodiversity Conservation Colombia, our mission is to protect the Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sanctuary by leading efforts to control illegal fishing, in close coordination with National Natural Parks of Colombia. As the primary on-site conservation team, we carry out regular maritime patrols, detect unauthorized vessels, remove illegal fishing gear, and document threats to the sanctuary. With our dedicated vessel Silky, we maintain a constant presence in this remote oceanic area - ensuring that its protected status is actively enforced, not just declared.
