Dear Valued Sponsors,
Dakbhanga Bangladesh (DBD) is implementing primary education program through operating two primary schools since 1998 in the remote area of Ramu sub-district of Cox's Bazar districts of Bangladesh to educate underprivileged children with the support of generous peoples. The schools educates the children from ECD to Grade V with a minimum support to higher education of the project students.
From the last year DBD started a new initiative as Zakat Program depends on the Zakat collection from the potential donors of home and abroad. It is for developing the socio economic status of the poor or ultra-poor with school going children in their families through income Generating activities. We are committed to support the poor parents who are in economic hardship and bound to engage their children in child labor dew to their poor income status. We are now planned to support 35 families of remote hilly area of Ramu, Cox's Bazar district under this program considering their needs/priority. We are providing them training and technical support to raise their incomes through different IGA. We also provide input and marketing supports to them through linkage with different marketing network. Some of the parents involve with agricultural activities, some with home-based poultry or any other home-based income generation activities to run their family hand to mouth.
To continue the support to the prioritized selected parents/family to continue their children’s education at least up to age their 18 the parents need the support of the enthusiastic peoples from the humanitarian community of the world as Dakbhanga have no capacity to continue the support from their own fund. DBD must use the support as Zakat must be used for the targeted school community with proper monitoring and with proper documentation. We started skills training depending on the local need , demand of surrounding market and availability of training scope to develop the families solvent through income generation by which they can able to change their socio economic status, to set themselves as the change agent of their communities. We are looking for new donors who will give zakat recurrently to the deserving parents to achieve goal.
