Since 1997, Samarthanam has been tirelessly working to empower disabled communities and advocating for their rights at all levels. Among the many events we organize, the annual Walkathon holds a special place, highlighting the importance of supporting persons with disabilities and embracing inclusion. Each year, our Walkathon revolves around a specific theme and serves as a platform for a public gathering, spreading awareness about a common cause. We bring together people from all walks of life
Underserved communities, especially government-school children, adolescent girls, persons with disabilities, and people in rural and slum areas, face limited access to nutrition, hygiene, healthcare and assistive resources. The project addresses these gaps by supporting 10,000 students, 5,000 girls and 1,000 visually impaired individuals, while providing first-aid and healthcare support.
Funds raised through the Walkathon will support nutrition kits, menstrual hygiene resources, first-aid kits, digital medical devices and essential healthcare support for underserved communities, promoting "Health for All."
The project can contribute to healthier and more inclusive communities by improving access to nutrition, hygiene, basic healthcare and assistive technology. Supporting children, girls and persons with disabilities can help strengthen their well-being, independence and participation in society. The initiative also promotes long-term health awareness and community action towards "Health for All."
