We have several projects released 2022 that will continue 2023. They have been successfully received by local citizens in Panama, regarding hearing health and education about hearing health. Aside give hearing exams this year; we want to educate 500 children and their parents about the importance of caring for their ears from an early age. We want to do this through five talks on educational campuses where we will also distribute printed material to take home.
There is not much information about hearing impairment locally, in national data or centers where people with hearing problems can improve their integration into regular working life.
Our foundation travels in urban and remote rural areas, teaching about hearing health and also our medical volunteers are able to do check ups for patients regarding hearing health.
Helping those that are hearing impaired to be able to have a normal family and work or school life. We participated in the structuring of the New Screening Law, which is already law in Panama and with which the government (by law) will now offer a neonatal hearing screening test to each baby born. We participated in the consultations they made for the structuring of the law.
