Dear Pump Aid Supporters,
Thank you so much for your donations to date. Every donation we receive for this project enables us to continue to work in Masvingo District, Zimbabwe. With support from people such as yourself we have already been able to help rural communities in Masvingo to gain access to clean water.
Without your support, we would be unable to help people such as Christine Fanzani, the Matron of Shalom Children’s Home, Mutoko District, Zimbabwe. Christine explains that “before the Elephant Pump, they used to get water from an open well. Around 50 buckets are required to meet the daily needs of running the children’s home. With up to 50 villagers also waiting to fill 6 buckets at the well at any one time, this could mean long delays. But now they have the Elephant Pump it takes less than a minute to fill a 10 litre bucket”! Christine says that “the pump has freed up my time and the time of the adults because the children can use the pump safely as it is protected. Before we always had to go with the children because we worried they could fall in. But now we feel safe. I can sew and look after the children’s clothes. I can wash the clothes anytime with the pump so they are much cleaner than they used to be. If we lost the pump we would be back to the rope and bucket which is a lot of labour to get dirty water.”
Pump Aid continues to be passionate about providing clean water to those who need it most. With your help we have been able to make real progress in Masvingo.
Thank you again for being part of “Give clean water to communities in Zimbabwe”.

We will send further updates to all our supporters in April 2011.
