It's been a challenging year for PARTI Program and other non-profit organizations across the United States due to the economic crises and rise of retail and essential services and products. In 2024, our objective is to garner support to involve 100 young individuals in empowering over 1,000 youth groups and organizations via service and engagement. With the backing of young people, community members, civic leaders, donors, and sponsors, we are making a strong comeback.
You can help by registering for Hundredx and complete surveys by Oct. 31st to help us raise money to empower 1,000 youth - OUR YOUTH need your support to create the 25th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Stop The Violence Celebration.
PARTI Summer Report - The voices of youth.
208 youth participated in program activities this summer and fall! Over 60% of participants are females.
Of the 2048 youth participants, the majority fell between the ages of 13 and 19. There was a notable presence of 13- and 14-year-olds, with some 14-year-olds transitioning to 15 during the summer. Participants aged 15-17 made up a significant portion, actively engaging in leadership, workforce readiness, and creative activities. Older youth, aged 18 and 24, played key mentoring roles, guiding younger participants and supporting event organization.:
Why do youth participate in PARTI?
Youth participate in PARTI because it provides support to those who require assistance in addressing fundamental challenges to achieve success and offers opportunities for advancement.
Summer 2024 top reasons youth participate were to improve grades (55.4%) and earn money (55.4%), followed by staying out of trouble (38.7%) and addressing mental health (38.7%). Other motivations included involvement in arts/events (28.5%), leadership (25.3%), and volunteerism (11.8%).
Who benefits from participating in PARTI?
No one is left behind! Youth who participated in our summer activities reported a wide range of cultural identities.
These included Hispanic, Mexican, Latino, Filipino, African American, Black, Asian, Indian (South Asian), Pacific Islander, and Native American. Some participants identified with mixed heritages, such as Mexican/Filipino, Black/Mexican, and Hispanic/Italian, while others noted specific ethnic backgrounds like Ethiopian, Cambodian, Tongan, Samoan, and Middle Eastern.
