In recent months, Pakistan has witnessed growing polarization and deepening divides that continue to test the resilience of its young citizens. From online spaces to university campuses, the shrinking room for dialogue and dissent poses one of the most significant challenges to peacebuilding today. The need for informed, empathetic, and active youth voices has never been greater.
The Youth as Change Makers: Promoting Peace in Pakistan project continues to respond to this challenge by fostering youth-led conversations on tolerance, inclusion, and civic responsibility. Over the past few months, the team has remained active through digital outreach and awareness efforts, primarily through the PILDAT x GlobalGiving Awareness Week campaign. This campaign shared data-driven insights, visual narratives, and key messages underscoring the importance of peace education and critical dialogue in countering social fragmentation.
These digital efforts have enabled us to sustain engagement among youth networks and ensure that conversations around civic harmony remain active, even in times when in-person gatherings are limited. By spotlighting the value of empathy, active citizenship, and informed debate, the campaign helped reaffirm that meaningful change begins with awareness — and that awareness begins with young people who are willing to listen and lead.
As polarization continues to challenge social cohesion, Youth as Change Makers remains committed to nurturing platforms for youth dialogue and peaceful engagement across Pakistan. Every conversation, post, and idea shared through this initiative brings us closer to a more inclusive and understanding future.
Warm regards,
Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT)
