What issues drive the youth of today? And how do they engage in politics? Orb Media's most recent story is focused on how young adults around the world perceive and participate with their governments. Focusing on countries across four continents, Orb Media conducted intensive on-the-ground reporting, data collection and analysis, and social journalism to identify and report on emerging trends associated with young adults' participation in political engagement.
Over the last decade, countries across the globe have seen a fundamental shift in terms of governance structures, ideologies, and leadership styles. Democracy, autocracy, technocracy, and military rule are now blurred -- no longer the discrete forms of governance that they once were. Youth vote and youth attitudes have never been more important on a global scale, and the public and policymakers lack critical information regarding where the world's youngest adults stand on these vital issues.
Orb Media deployed a combination of social journalism, data collection and analysis, and on-the-ground reporting to answer critical questions about youth, governance, and political engagement. In addition to publishing the story on our site, Orb Media partnered with a cohort of eight leading agenda-setting media outlets to carry the story and ensure global reach to millions of individuals across the globe.
As a journalism organization, Orb Media is committed to tracking both the quantitative and qualitative impacts of the stories that we produce. We seek the engagement of readers and supporters in capturing the ripples of impact as a result of information shared in our stories.
