To empower adolescents and young addicts to get out of drugs. Drugs is gradually killing Young Generations in my community, Ajegunle - miniNigeria. If young people are to say no to drugs, then there should be something to say yes to; Personality and Skills development training to explore their potentials for healthy lifestyles in peaceful and Eco-friendly environment. $220 will help to empower a young person in Ajegunle, Lagos (miniNigeria) involved in drug to give him/her a promising future.
There is a steady increase in the number of young people plagued with mental health including chronic gut diseases, incarcerated in prisons, and died as result of substance poison. The primary reason is illicit drug use or drug abuse. There are also logical indicators that the negative impact of drug abuse among young people in the nearest future will add to the public health care burden of the nation as more mental health treatment and rehabilitation center would be in great need indeed.
Young addicts will be educated on the negative impact of hard drugs: tramadol, codeine, hemps among other narcotics/substances and are been empowered to make informed decision and choose safer options to build their communities and identities without drugs. This project will help to develop manpower by way of social capacity building and life skills development to savage the youngster population for positive behavioural change and socioeconomic sustenance, thus developing a Drug free society.
This project will help to raise 200 young advocates and role models, to conduct indirect primary prevention, as a treated drug using individual will not lure others into using drugs. the rate of juvenile crime, rape, violence among other social vices will be reduced in the community for a peaceful sustainable development in Ajegunle (miniNigeria), pointer city for the state and Nation at large.
