On the 7th of October, IPBio hosted an event at the local school of Iporanga where our community attended to see the results of the course. We started off by showing a documentary, produced by IPBio, which summarized the whole course from the conceptualization of the project to how the course played out.

This was followed by an inspiring speech given by the founder of IPBio, Sergio Pompeia, who discussed the importance of harnessing hidden talents through simply providing opportunity for creative expression.

Ana Glaucia, the manager of IPBio, proceeded to call up the students to present their short documentaries. They had worked in groups to create thematic films on: biodiversity; history & culture; landscapes.

Once this was completed, we opened a classroom which we had transformed into an exhibition room where we had pinned up 2 large collages of the children best work and set up TV screens which were playing their documentaries and displaying more wonderful photos they had captured. Attendees could take their time to appreciate the students work much like an art gallery.

We are proud to report that the Young Biodiversity Artists course you donated to was a wonderful success. It is thanks to you that this project came to fruition and we can’t thank you enough. The positive reception from our community reassured us that the Young Biodiversity Artists course must be continued next year to give more opportunities to the next generation of Iporanga who wish to develop their artistic skills and deepen their passion for biodiversity.
