You Are Hearts of Gold is the general fund of Hearts of Gold Foundation in Cuenca, Ecuador. Your gift is shared equally across all our programs: health and psychological care, jobs for women, support for children and teens, and environmental work. In times of crisis or big campaigns, it lets us act where the need is greatest.
In Cuenca, Ecuador, many families, most led by single mothers, as well as older adults and people with disabilities, live in cycles of poverty. They face food insecurity and limited access to healthcare, mental health support, education and safe employment. Most families first come to us asking for food, but hunger is only the visible part of the problem. Without integral support, children inherit the same lack of opportunities, and the cycle repeats.
Each family is interviewed and evaluated, then accompanied for 6 to 12 months. Through AMA, they receive psychological therapy, medicines, nutrition follow-up, clothing and legal guidance. Mothers train and earn income in D'Ellas Bakery and D'Ellas Cleaning Service. Children and teens join All Children Deserve to Dream for mentoring, vocational guidance and My First Job. Workshops cover family planning, abuse prevention and basic finances.
Since 2013, Hearts of Gold has touched over 70,000 lives. When a family becomes stable and independent, it graduates and its place goes to a new family, so every gift keeps multiplying. Mothers with steady income, healthier children with dreams for their future, and stronger communities are how we break the cycle of poverty for good.
