This program provides financial assistance to adoptive families that adopt a Golden 10 years and older. Any family willing to adopt a Rescue Golden from YGRR, ages 10 and over will receive financial assistance with medical procedures above and beyond routine care. We have seen a significant increase in the number of dogs coming into our program that are in this age group. This program has brought wonderful senior Golden's and adoptive families together more quickly than usual
The number of Golden Retrievers aged 10 and older is rising. People are less likely to adopt a Golden Retriever of this age due to the likelihood that they will require expensive medical care. This increases the chances that these dogs will remain at rescue for longer periods of time while we work to find adoptive families.
Any family willing to adopt a Rescue Golden ages 10 and over will receive financial assistance with medical procedures above and beyond routine care. This greatly increases the chances that these wonderful dogs will quickly find adoptive families and their forever homes.
Considering that the number of dogs coming into rescue that are in this age group, the potential long-term impact would significantly increase if this program did not exist.
