 Summary:

YES (Youth Empowerment through Skills) will be implemented in Kurigram District, located in Northeast territory in Bangladesh Youth is certainly a most crucial and critical phase of life. A vast majority of this section unfortunately remains unreached, but it is a matter of fact that young people need a great amount of concentration to become the driving force of a Nation. They are facing lots of challenges in Bangladesh. They don't receive specific direction, guidance and motivation

Challenge

More than 50% of the Bangladesh population of 158 million is under the age of 24. Youth is the hope of the Nation for the future. Young people are the most energetic and productive segment of the total population. Youth is certainly a most crucial and critical phase of life. A vast majority of this section unfortunately remains unreached, but it is a matter of fact that young people need a great amount of concentration to become the driving force of a Nation. They are facing lots of challenges i

Solution

The project will set up a vocational skill centers equipped with necessary machineries and tools. Before start the activities a baseline survey will be conducted to screening out targeted beneficiaries following the structured format. Consultation and Coordination will be done with multi stakeholders to formulate appropriate project approaches. Highly professional and experience trainers will be hired to conduct the training based on trade. Start up grant, will be given to those are potential.

Long-Term Impact

Skill development training significantly impacts poor youth by improving employability and income, boosting productivity, fostering entrepreneurship, and ultimately helping to break cycles of poverty. This empowerment leads to a better quality of life through access to better housing, healthcare, and education, and also contributes to overall economic growth and poverty alleviation at national levels. to identify business opportunities and start their own ventures, creating wealth and employment

Target groups

The direct target group of this project are 200 youth people among them 60% girls and young women.  The age range of the target groups is approx. 15 – 25 years with a minimum of accomplished class nine to graduate in school and college. The indirect target beneficiaries of this project are 1,800 family members.

Project Location:

YES, Project will be implemented in Island (River basin) Areas of 6 Union under Sadar Sub-District of District Kurigram in Bangladesh

Expected result of the project

v  Life skills for 200 youth (60% girls and young women) are enhanced

v  400 youth gained market driven skills to improve their economic self-reliance

v  30 girls are equipped with Sewing Machine

v  The possibility of 200 young people to enter successfully the job market or to sell their skills or to pursue education/training at advanced schools or universities are enhanced.

v  Trainees are ready to act as Change Agents regarding DP and DRR

Acheivement:

  1. Adapt and equip the current training venue
  2. Conduct a training needs assessment
  3. Select potential participants for training
  4. Organize structured round-table meetings with potential stakeholders
  5. Conduct regular coordination, monitoring

In conclusion, Youth Empowerment through Skills(YES) playing an important role in providing care and support to vulnerable youths and Skill development training significantly impacts poor youth by improving employability and income, boosting productivity, fostering entrepreneurship, and ultimately helping to break cycles of povertyThe Village Initiative for Empowerment of Women(VIEW) is one of the organizations working to improve the lives of youths in Bangladesh, by providing skill development opportunities, basic necessities, social and emotional support to the youths is committed to helping these children become self-sufficient and successful entrepreneure to reach their full potential. The programs and services are designed to meet the unique needs of each youth, But without adequate funding the mission is not possible to gain expected outcome and impact. Overall, we all are trying to achieve its goal and misssion possible efforts are making a real difference in the lives of the youths they deserved.
