Bright Side Projects provides necessities and plant-based food staples pack to families and youth in need by working with local community centers, elementary schools, and the church. Packages will be distributed to 15 indigenous Atayal families in Hsinchu ChingChuan and 8 indigenous Amis families in Taitung, provide meals to children in orphanages, while over 1000 lbs of organic locally grown rice will be distributed to even more families in need.
Youth in orphanages and underserved families are in need of a complete year end winter package with basic food staples and necessities such as blankets and functional jackets.
Bright Side Projects has given back to the communities since 2012, inspired by Santa Jia-Xin, who was adopted from Taiwan and at the tender age of 6 wanted to give back to the children she left behind. Being able to provide complete year end winter packages and also inviting the children to join empowerment workshops with gift creation and cooked meals shows that holidays are not just about receiving gifts but spending time together.
This project will provide basic means for families in need for the winter months to stave off hunger and the cold; in addition from the information gathered we plan to supplement families with health packages three times a year alongside workshops within the community. With this safety net families and children can focus their resources on other matters.
