Taiwan is fast approaching a super aged nation with older folks left behind. Bright Side Projects aimis to inspire creativity in our senior citizens and engage the art community to teach art and other creativity mediums as a therapeutic and communication tool to build connections and bridges. This would include learning basics of interior design, space planning, and may include various art creation through such as photography, AI, clay, paper mache, graffiti to beautify their space.
Taiwan is a super aged society with our elders are increasingly becoming left behind and ignored by society. in everyday life from easy medical access for those not based in the metropolis, basic city planning for mobility, and creative programs that are actually geared towards their benefit that does not infantilized them. Programs do not empower them with new information or skills and does not re-integrates them back into society.
No one should have to be left behind because of their age. Our year long program has already begun the empowerment progress in reimagining their community center in cleaning, beautifying, and enhancing it for them to utilize traditional and new forms of art to that not only keeps them up to date on new communication and art trends such as AI, photoshopping with mobile phones, graffiti, and experiencing various cultural such as Africa through creation of paper mache masks and african drumming.
Program targets not just individuals but educates the whole of society on how to be kinder, designing spaces, creative services, and alter communication to our elder population. Many of these activities in Taiwan have been cut off and society has little to no understanding of not only what elders need but forget to see that these are activities they enjoy and will no longer have access to. Bright Side Projects believes accessibility and creation keeping this in mind is key to a brighter future.
