At Youth for Education and Agriculture International Liberia (YEAI-Liberia), we have had a unique free Computer education Program for Adolescents and youth from 2014 to date; considering the positive impact this program has created for our beneficiaries over the past years, we wish to transform this program into establishing a Resource Center (YEAI-Liberia Resource Center for Youth Empowerment) in Three (3) of the Fifteen Counties of Liberia (Montserrado, Grand Bassa and Margibi).
A range of issues were identified from our past Free computer Literacy program for vulnerable youth and the visitation we did at other institutions and communities. Among these issues were: 1. The need to create Skills training opportunities for vulnerable youths who cannot afford school fees but are eager to learn; 2. Students in schools want to use modern IT Equipment for research through effective tutoring for their performance, other people also want to build their capacity at work.
The Resource Center will be the focal point in the three project locations where students and vulnerable youth meet, collaborate and learn on a free basis through the following: 1. Interaction and collaborative learning for vulnerable youth to create job opportunities for them; 2. Juggling multiple sources of simultaneous information; 3. Team-based problem solving and connections as study groups; 4. Empowerment of high school and college students for their academic performance...
YEAI-Liberia Resource Centers project will empower many students, vulnerable youth and others every year through the following: Free Training and Tutoring (Research, Computer courses, writing skills, SRHR Education, Business Development Skills... up to 108 youth (50% males and 50 % females); Regular Students and professionals research: up to 500 beneficiaries; Career and trade shows: up to 700 beneficiaries; Capacity building sections for working people: up to 80 beneficiaries...
