We work with 30 young girls (from 5 to 18 years old) in a centre for victims of sexual abuse in Bolivia. Our project aims to help these girls regain confidence in themselves, empower themselves and remain strong against the adversities life has thrown at them. We need your help to continue running micro-business workshops in order to help these girls overcome their traumas, find the will to survive and become independent and healthy adults.
Bolivia is the second poorest country in South America. Aid and support to victims of sexual abuse is therefore scarce and underfunded. Often abused within their own families, these girls arrive into our orphanage lacking confidence and the will to continue. Our workshops help to rebuild their feeling of self-worth and prepare them for adult life so that they can eventually set up their own microbusinesses and become independent, strong women.
We are offering a viable alternative and support to help 30 girls attend specialised workshops to help them overcome their difficult pasts. Holistic training is provided in sewing, fashion design jewellery, micro-businesses, marketing and gender issues. Each girl also receives individual coaching, moral support and counselling from professionals to ensure on-going educational progress. With this support, the girls are able to build a brighter and independent future for themselves.
Through this project these deserving girls will have the skills to rebuild their lives, ensure their futures and face coming difficulties confidently. Through self-empowerment and skilled workshops the girls will have the knowledge and know-how to build their own businesses and become independent workers of tomorrow's Bolivia.
