Women's Empowerment in Nepal

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Nepal Women's Empowerment Project has continued to create meaningful change in the lives of local women. This initiative focuses on building English language skills and practical vocational abilities through a sewing project designed to support income generation and foster stronger community ties among women.

We celebrated International Womens Day with a fun gathering with food games and supportive interactions.  It was a fantastic day for all.

Over the past months, an increasing number of women have taken part in our English classes. These sessions go beyond language learning—they open doors to new opportunities, including:

• Improved confidence in navigating health and education

• The ability to connect with women from neighboring communities and beyond

• Greater access to resources and information

The classes have become safe and uplifting spaces where women support one another, share stories, and build lasting friendships.

We continued our sewing program to upskill women with practical, income-generating skills. Through this project, women have learned to:

• Use sewing machines confidently

• Follow patterns and create clothing and household items

• Understand basic business and marketing principles

Importantly, all sewing materials and machines have been purchased locally, ensuring that funds also support nearby vendors and the broader community economy.

As a result, participants have started producing items with the potential to generate income that directly supports their families.
