Empowerment through a range of topics

By Tara Gautam | Program Manager

Thank You for Supporting Women’s Empowerment in Nepal!

We deeply appreciate your ongoing support for our Women’s Empowerment project. Your contributions enable us to provide a wide range of resources that directly impact the lives of women in the community.

Over the past quarter, we’ve conducted a variety of workshops and experiences aimed at expanding opportunities and education for women. Here are some highlights:

We hosted an inspiring session on confidence-building with young girls and women in the community. This workshop raised awareness of practical strategies for enhancing confidence in daily life.

Our team has been working to raise awareness about the importance of mental health. Workshops covered foundational concepts of mental health, strategies for maintaining emotional and psychological balance, and the social aspects of well-being.

Collaborating with our partner SASANE, we facilitated a session on menopause awareness for local women and menstrual hygiene for young girls.   It was a valuable learning experience for women, covering essential topics many were hearing for the first time and young girls understand important changes in their bodies.

We also recently conducted an informative session with students on animal diseases and how they can affect human health.   From bird flu to zoonotic diseases, the students learned about how germs can spread between animals and humans and ways to stay safe.

Thanks to your support, our sewing project has continued. Our final group in the sewing project in one of the partners is wrapping up their training this December, marking an incredible milestone! With this session, we will have trained all the women in this community, empowering 27 women throughout the year.

Watch as they skillfully sew garments —like baby clothes and Kurtha Surwal— while our dedicated volunteers appreciate their hard work and craftsmanship. This journey has been inspiring.

English classes remain a core part of our program, enabling participants to enhance their conversational skills and vocabulary. It’s heartening to witness their growing confidence as they communicate more effectively.

We are grateful for the response to our fundraising efforts this year. Your generosity is suporting our mission to empower women and create sustainable change.

Thank you once again for being a part of this journey. We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress.

Warm regards,
The Nepal Project Team
