When women prosper, their families are strengthened, opportunities are created in communities, and their businesses add to the economic growth of their nations. Our Women Rising project will help thousands of women in rural Rajasthan, India, turn their skills and ideas into sustainable businesses. We provide entrepreneurship training, financial education, mentoring, and small grants - giving women the tools to generate income and build lasting economic self-reliance. (Please see the video.)
Across rural Rajasthan, India, women have valuable skills and ideas that could become sustainable businesses, but many lack access to business training, financial education, mentoring, markets, and startup resources. Without these critical tools, their potential to generate reliable income can remain unrealized, limiting their ability to build lasting financial security and invest in their families' education, nutritious food, healthcare, and future opportunities for a better quality of life.
Women will receive entrepreneurship training, financial education, mentoring, business development support, and small grants to help them start, manage, and grow sustainable businesses. Qualified participants can use our small grants for startup resources that can turn their skills, ideas, and efforts into income. The goal is not temporary assistance, but lasting change by giving women the knowledge, tools, resources, and opportunities to generate income and build sustainable self-reliance.
The long-term vision is a ripple effect: thousands of women with incomes create stronger families who benefit in numerous ways - with better education and health, and with more opportunities that can create a better future for all family members. Because of women's successful businesses and families' self-reliance, their communities and nations can become economically stronger. After Rajasthan, India, we will take Women Rising from Poverty to Prosperity to other states, provinces, and nations.
