The rainy season in Hoima-Uganda started mid last month of March 2025 however rural farmers struggle to acquire quality seeds due to high prices of seeds in the market and poor quality of seeds.
We gave out over a ton of high quality bean seeds to women at the beginning at March 2025 to enable them do early planting and also earn a living. This happened after women undergoing training on organic farming. The training aimed at promoting a sustainable and holistic approach to agriculture, offering benefits for the environment, health of people and their economy and promoting biodiversity and soil health. The trained at equipping farmers with practical knowledge and skills on organic farming and good agronomic practices i.e no bush burning, practicing crop rotation, application of organic fertilizers and pesticides.
Farmers were encourage to use organic farm inputs in order to keep their soil healthier and resilient.x`as
