We offer handicraft training and entrepreneurship mentoring to 60 underprivileged women of Santiago del Estero. Through theoretical and practical classes we seek to help them become economically independent and generate an income for their families.
The project is developed in Santiago del Estero, which is according to recent studies of the UN (UNDP) one of the most unequal provinces in Argentina. Opportunities for economic development are unlikely, especially for women who are heads of households, since access to training, resources and microcredit is almost impossible. Fundacion San Genaro supports women not only to promote their development, but also to ensure their rights.
Fundacion San Genaro selects underprivileged women to be part of the handicraft and entrepreneurship project. Each group, made up of 15 women, receives all the materials to participate in 16 practical classes and 6 theoretical classes throughout the program. In addition, each woman receives personalized support and receive training in digital and entrepreneurial skills.
Once the program ends, women will have the opportunity to sell their products, thus achieving economic growth that benefits their children and family. The main objective of this program is to empower, restore and regenerate women and improve their status, achieving greater independence and autonomy.
