Most of the rural women of the Terai region of Nepal are illiterate and also lack certain skills to generate income for themselves which often leaves them on the lurch and below the poverty level. Thus, this project aims to improve the livelihoods of these helpless rural women by helping them to learn skills to generate income through various skill development training and workshops. For ex: vegetable farming, tailoring, handicrafts, bee-keeping, pickle making, mushroom farming, carpentry, etc.
More than 90% of the rural women population are illiterate and also lack certain skills to generate income to support themselves and their families. This situation of destitution leaves them in the lurch and below the poverty level, they lack the basic fundamental life supports like health, education, and nourishment.
This project will try to solve the problem of extreme poverty within the rural women's communities of Nepal by helping them to learn certain income-generating skills through various skill development training and workshops. Such skill development training will train rural women in developing any one of the skills like vegetable farming, tailoring, handicrafts, bee-keeping, pickle making, mushroom farming, carpentry, etc to help them in income generation activities.
The potential long-term impact will be as follows: 1. The livelihood of rural women's communities will be improved through the income generated by the rural women using the skills; 2. Women can participate in the decision-making process more meaningfully; 5. Women can afford the quality education of their children;
