This Project is set to empower 10,200 Women and Girls in Human rights awareness, education, entrepreneurial skills, skills development, financial empowerment through various modes that include; formal and informal trainings, role modeling and mentoring, provision of school fees and scholastic materials to bring up holistically transformed and emancipated women and girls who will confidently contribute to decisions on issues affecting them and the communities they live in.
Women and girls in Wakiso District have suffered injustice, violence, ignorance, illiteracy, discrimination, inequality, high rates of maternal mortality,girl child molestation,hunger,limited girl child education,women battering,limited participation in community & national leadership,rape and several cases of early & unwanted pregnancies. There are also High levels of cohabitation due to the fact that they are powerless and unable to make decisions on issues of marriage as an institution.
Will empower 6,000 Women,1200 out of school girls,3000 school going girls of Wakiso District; in human rights awareness,education,entrepreneurship skills, financial empowerment through women's rights training workshops, community dialogues, mobilizing girls and women for group dynamics, mentoring and coaching, provision of IGA's, establishment of girl child clubs, provision of scholastic materials and fees contributions to give them voice and power to disengage themselves from the predicaments.
We will support and empower 10,200 women and girls within Wakiso district to reduce high poverty levels arising from unequal power relations and injustices & enhance their inclusion in decision making at all levels of community and national development & get placed in a position where they are able to single out their rights, able to claim & demand them responsibly and confidently participate in democratic activities as well as meticulously seeking for accountability from duty bearers.
