The Winter Gear Campaign will provide jackets, blankets and socks to people traumatized, displaced by war with ISIS, and living in camps in Northern Iraq. Winter gear will help protect these displaced people from harsh winter temperatures across Iraq. Children, the elderly and families need our help now because the winter temperatures can be below zero degrees. $24,000 USD will provide 1200 people with a jacket and a blanket.
Many displaced people, traumatized by ISIS, are now living in camps and face many challenges. Temperatures in Northern Iraq can be below freezing during the winter, and many children and elderly have died and become sick from the cold weather. Those displaced by conflict do not have access to winter gear, like jackets and blankets, and need our help.
The Winter Gear Campaign will save lives by providing humanitarian aid to those who have become sick and need jackets and blankets to preserve their health.
In the long term, humanitarian aid will preserve communities of displaced people and give them strength to create new hope.
