My face to face with SANTI children

By Ashok Dandpat | Project Leader

Hello Friends, hope you are having fun and if you are in states then preparing for the Thanksgiving weekend.

With so much excitement, I spent time with our SANTI children last month and I cannot express the ecstatic feeling I had during my stay there. It is a real touchy feel to meet these children who were originally belonged to poorest section of the society.

When I compare 2011 versus 2014 I must admit children are growing and have learnt more about communication, good behavior, education and overall view towards life. Last month, when I entered to meet these children, they all stood and greeted me saying “Good evening Sir”. I was quite impressed by their warm welcome. I can see they were more organized and can communicate to me in the local language “Odiya”.

I discussed with children and asked “do you want to go back to the place where you came from? “. The answer was unanimously “No”. Which itself is an answer to most of our questions who are working and supporting SANTI from outside India.

I and my wife also discussed with two of SANTI wardens, Mr Pati and his wife. This is definitely a dream comes true to see where we are now. Back in 2011 we thought to provide full support to 10 children and with all your support we can see the happiness in 23 children eyes.

We also found issues and we will be focusing in future such as better living, finding better teachers & better grades for children etc etc..

Thanks for your continued support and we are looking for your whole hearted support so that we can make them better human being.

Thanks

Ashok Dandpat
