Egg Discovery
Camp Forest is ready to sleep for the winter. It is now time for the staff reflect on the past summer and make plans for 2016. Memories of the adapted expedition where parents could pick up and drop off their child daily at different locations on the river for those too timid to seep out, was wonderfully received. The EPIC animal game where the campers became a forest animal and a ce the part for the day! They never wanted to end. The fantastic staff combination we hope to repeat. The campers learned, had fun, and grew by leaps and bounds in the wild. Your donations helped campers who would not otherwise be able to attend. Camp Forest offers full and partial camperships allowing parents to ha an affordable part in their child’s experience. Your gift this holiday season will allow us to award Camperships to parents to put in their child’s gift bags. Thank you .

GIrls WEEK a bit HIT!!
By Beverly Gilbert Stone | Director
![Happy Campers!]()
Happy Campers!
Camp Forest 2015 is instilling confidence building wilderness skills and widening cultural understanding. Thanks to Global Giving donors, more children who would not otherwise be able to attend have enjoyed a week at Camp Forest this summer. Especially special is the week dedicated to GIRLS!! Girl’s week was an enormous success. Girls will often “allow” the boys to dominate the more active and challenging skills. But when there are ALL GIRLS, they step up and give it a try.
The Watersheds Expedition, August 24 – 28 is still accepting enrollments. A child and/or parent can come from anywhere in the world to enjoy Maine’s primitive beauty. So send a child you know or donate to assist a child you don’t.
Join us for this wonderful expedition! We'll spend five whole days exploring the watersheds of the Passagassawaukeg River and the Marsh Stream in Brooks, Maine. This expedition begins at Camp Forest on Monday morning, where we'll learn how to use our gear and pack up for the expedition. After practicing with the gear and packing it all up, we set off on our first hike to Half Moon Pond to set up a comfortable primitive campsite and canoe and fish on the pond. We can visit our friends the beavers, muskrats, eagles, and fox. Who knows what you'll catch sight of!? From there we will hike up a mountain where we can see the entire Passagassawaukeag watershed from Brooks to Belfast Bay and see sail boats on the harbor. From there we will travel to the Marsh Stream watershed. We'll end the week traveling down the Marsh River to the Brooks Park. During this expedition, skills for the Osprey, Eagle, Beaver and Maine Woodsman will be learned. If you're ready for an amazing wilderness camping experience, this expedition is for you! Ages 8 and up, if ready.
