We believe that all children should have access to education, because knowledge gives them power to change their future. That's why we support Roma children coming from very poor social conditions. We want them to know that their life and dreams are as important as others. With your help we create a new generation of Roma- educated, hardworking, confident and proud. The know-how is simple- we give them an opportunity.
Roma children from Dive Maky come from segregated Roma communities. Dive maky supports them by scholarships donated from individual donors enabling them to study at quality schools. Throughout the year they have no opportunities to meet real professionals from their area of specialisation. Activities such as workshops and Summer academy give them opportunity to gain new skills and motivation. Workshops and Summer academy support also children's integration and personal development.
Identified talented Roma children are provided with a scholarship that allows them to attend suitable education, participate in artistic workshops with professionals who help them to work o their talents. Not only through education, but also through workshops on personal development and support of local tutors our vision is to lead their lives towards success, independence and sustainability that their families were not able to provide them with.
Individual impact allows Roma children to reach sustainability in their lifestyle through supporting their specific talents via education, tutoring and additional non-formal activities of Dive maky (Summer academy or performances). Such independent and motivated alumni of our program then become role models for its peers, inspiration for its family and a good example for society that will potentially end marginalization of Romas in Slovakia.
