Wheels of Change: Keeping Hope Moving
A New Project Car for Tiljala SHED
For 15 years, our old Maruti Eeco was much more than a vehicle. It was a familiar and dependable presence in the lives of the children and families we serve. It carried children, transported food and medicines, delivered donations and relief supplies, supported emergencies, and took our team into communities where help was needed most.
After 15 years of service, it had finally reached the end of its journey.
Today, we are happy to share that the wait is over — our new Project Car has arrived!
For Tiljala SHED, this vehicle means much more than four wheels. It is a lifeline on the road.
It will carry essential food and medical supplies to vulnerable families, help our team reach children and communities safely, support emergency responses, and make it easier for children to access education, healthcare and opportunities. It will also help us welcome volunteers and visiting supporters who contribute their time and resources to our work.
Most importantly, this vehicle will help us keep reaching children who are growing up with very limited opportunities — ensuring that distance, emergencies or lack of transport do not become another barrier to their education and well-being.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Hocking Family and Susan Hickes for their incredible generosity in covering the full cost of the new Project Car.
Their support has given Tiljala SHED something essential: the ability to keep moving forward.
But purchasing the vehicle is only the beginning.
A vehicle that serves a community needs fuel, regular servicing, repairs, insurance and other running costs.
Your contribution towards the fuel, maintenance and running costs of the Project Car will help ensure that this lifeline remains on the road — reaching children, families and communities whenever and wherever they need us.
Every journey will carry more than people or supplies.
It will carry food to a hungry family, medicine to someone in need, support to a vulnerable child, and hope to a community.
Every contribution, big or small, will help keep this vehicle moving and help us continue creating opportunities for children who need them most.
Help us keep the wheels of change moving.
Because when the wheels keep moving, hope keeps moving too.
