Within the last month, AAFF has been able to support two communities with access to clean water. One community had a well at a school that was used by both students and the community. However, the pump and the pipes needed replaced. Although we did not install the original well, the community ask for our support to help them repair the well so the students would have access to water during the day and the hundreds of families in the community could provide for their water needs.
We are currently in the process of installing a well for a community (pictured above). They had a well, but it is not functioning. We did not install the original well either, but we were invited to look at their situation. We determined that we could not provide a well as close to the community as we would like because the water is salty. However, we can install the well near a school a short walk away and are able to drill deep enough for the community to have access to clean water. This well should be completed within the week.
We are also in the process of surveying communities to hopefully install two more wells before the end of the year. Thank you for your partnership with us to help families meet their basic need for clean water. Your generosity is changing lives.
