Restore Handpumps in 51 Dalit Households in Nepal

By Abhishek Bhandari | Project Manager

Bagmati Welfare Society Nepal (BWSN) would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all our generous donors who supported our initiative to restore hand pumps for Dalit (so-called untouchable) communities. Your kindness and trust mean a great deal to us and the communities we serve.

Although we were unable to  materialize the project and complete the restoration of the hand pumps as initially planned, your contributions have not gone unnoticed. We remain committed to continuing this important campaign to enhance access to safe water services for Dalit households and other marginalized populations.

BWSN is dedicated to serving local communities, especially those that are poor, excluded, and vulnerable. Through our Multidimensional Community Development Program, we focus on:

  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)

  • Education and Livelihood Support

  • Child Protection and Anti-Trafficking Initiatives

  • Climate, Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Relief

  • Gender Equality and Social Inclusion

Our organization works closely with local governments, community-based organizations, and development partners to create lasting, community-driven change.

To the donor who contributed through GlobalGiving, we sincerely thank you for your generosity and belief in our mission. Your support empowers us to continue our efforts, even in the face of challenges. We look forward to your continued solidarity to success the campaign to ensure clean and equitable water access for Dalit communities in need.

With gratitude,
Bagmati Welfare Society Nepal (BWSN)
