Waiting to meet our local referent Kimu, just returned to Italy for a short time, here are the latest updates on the project:
Due to heavy rains the season of the last harvest was rather poor; this was also confirmed by the Tiyende Pamodzi Group which, composed of local volunteers and coordinated by the local contact Aleimar Marina, supports and provides assistance to people with disabilities and children in the different villages of the district. In December, thanks to your valuable contribution, we donated two pedal pumps to two volunteers of the group: Unfortunately Mbwana Watch "of Mtuluko Village failed to plant anything due to the flood, but now that it has cleared the ground, he is ready to plant tomatoes. It went better for the volunteer Yahaya said that between April and May he had planted cabbages and tomatoes and, despite the delay in the application of pesticides due to the lack of sprinklers, he is getting a decent harvest and with what proceeds from the sale can buy a sprayer!
In the last three months we have managed to buy two more pedal pumps that will soon be donated to two new families! We hope that the climate is mild and guarantees a better crop that can ensure food and a profitable sale!
Finally, we wish you a pleasant journey to discover the Aleimar projects in Malawi, to Miriam and Marco, two volunteers who have decided to make a wedding of solidarity, and to Andrea and Davide, two young graduating students. We are waiting for your news!
