Washed Away Pakistan

Summary

Baria Panhwar is a village in Dadu Sindh, as well as Mithrio Suttar and Mithrio Charan in Tharparkar Sindh and Keti Bandar Sindh. These districts are very vulnerable because of the coming monsoon as they do not have any systems in place to protect themselves from the impact of water flowing through the areas without restraint. Our system is focused towards early warning, awareness campaigns and meal provision.

Challenge

There is limited systems in place for an early warning mechanism in the areas specified. Furthermore, they do not have any provisions established regarding monsoons because of the hot temperatures in their areas.

Solution

It will spread awareness through the provision of boats as well as through the early warning system, which will allow the people to immediately act and protect their materials which are important for their well being.

Long-Term Impact

The most important step is that early warning system will allow for the people to take immediate action against floods in advance as there will be trained volunteers there.
