No One Down Relief Organization (NODRO), in partnership with regional authorities and local actors, aims to empower 500,000+ Ethiopian youth and women to claim their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through grassroots advocacy, policy reform, and stigma reduction. Targeting marginalized communities in Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, and Somali regions, this project will: Train 500+ SRHR advocates to lead community dialogues and campaigns. Influence 11+ regional policies
Pressing Issue and the Problem: Ethiopia faces critical SRHR gaps: Over all Crises, Real - time data and challenge 40% of girls are married before 18 (UNICEF 2023). 70% of youth lack comprehensive sexuality education (CSE). girls in communities face violence and exclusion due to stigma. Weak policy enforcement leaves rural areas underserved.
How the project will solve the problems (Solution) Over 3 years, we will: Educate 500,000+ youth and women on SRHR rights. Build the capacity of 15+ local CSOs to lead advocacy. Conduct 500+ community dialogues to challenge stigma. Launch youth-led radio and social media campaigns. Influence 11+ regional policies for youth-friendly SRHR services. Train 1000+ SRHR youth champions and establish sustainable advocacy networks.
Potential Long-Term Impact: Policy reforms that embed youth-friendly SRHR services. Increased agency among women and girls to make health decisions. Sustainable local movements leading continued advocacy. Reduced child marriage, unintended pregnancies, and stigma.
