358 new students enrolled at the college when term began on 9th September.For many of them this could be an opportunity to acquire practical or vocational skills that could transform their lives and those of their families and communities. Many have struggled already to find enrolment fees, and fees and equipment will remain a challenge.The college will endeavour to help and encourage with fees, but this is where support for this project can make such a difference. Please help Friends of AICM provide a substantial bursary fund to help these needy students
The college reports the successful completion of a Ugandan government sponsored non-formal skills training programme that ran from 6th June to 30th September. 140 students completed one of 4 modules:-motor maintenance, dress making, baking and coffee set making. The college hopes to be chosen to run another course beginning in November.
A party of visitors from the Friends in UK to AICM in Kabale attended an open day on 24th September where college departments were open for visits. The District Education Officer was in attendance as was Bishop Enoch Kayeyee, founder of AICM 25 years ago.Festivities included a cultural gala.
