The situation in the world due to the pandemic has had a negative impact on almost all areas, which is why, despite the situation, we would like to thank you for your enormous effort to continue supporting those who need it most. In this second report for 2020, on behalf of the institution and the beneficiaries, we would like to thank in a very special way all the donors who have continued to support and who, thanks to their generosity, make it possible for elderly people who need surgery and who do not have economic resources to have access to quality ophthalmological services.
It has been a hard work together with the doctors, the surgical team, the administrative staff and the beneficiaries who have given everything to succeed in the interventions.
After their discharge we are sure that, thanks to their support and joint work, we have changed the lives of the visually impaired. They now enjoy a better quality of life in relation to visual functioning.
On behalf of the Institution and the beneficiaries, we thank all the donors who have made it possible for elderly people who need surgery and do not have economic resources to have access to quality ophthalmological services.

The Association Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanks the support to all the people who have made it possible for the dreams of seventeen people to become a reality   to come true by making their surgery possible and recovering their visual health. A heartfelt thank you to all the people who supported the cause.

You will discover that you have two hands. One is for helping yourself and the other is for helping others _ Audrey Hepburn

Wishing you a Happy New Year with hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come.

You do not have to be rich, to be generous. Thank you.

Thanks to your donation through GlobalGiving and the efforts of ACREC's operative and medical team, 20 patients were treated during the last three months, providing 65 ophthalmological consultations, diagnostic studies and preoperative protocol . Twenty cataract surgeries were performed on vulnerable patients deprived of their right to health. To date we can account for the success in surgical treatments so that in the medium and long term we will be able to account for the positive impact on these patients by changing their quality of life in relation to visual functioning.
Below are photos of some patients who have benefited from your donation. Again thank you very much for your donation and allow them to "See Again".

Thanks to the support of donors in GlobalGiving it was possible for 35 older adults to have cataract, glaucoma and retina surgeries, improving their quality of life, as is the case of Mrs. Carmen, 85 years old, originally from Teloloapan, a highly marginalized indigenous town in the State of Guerrero, who was widowed a year ago and moved to her grandson's house. He helps her financially to cover her personal and household expenses. Carmen was diagnosed with cataract, because of this condition she could not carry out her daily and personal activities, being helped by a niece. She underwent cataract surgery, recovering her ability to carry out her activities and thus improving her quality of life.
