Dear donors, thank you for your donation and for recognizing the quiet dedication of female nurses working in rural communities. Your support directly helps those who care for patients under demanding conditions, often with limited resources.
Across many remote parts of Nigeria, nurses are expected to handle long shifts, high patient loads, and complex medical tasks without access to basic vision care. Poor eyesight makes it harder to read dosage instructions, track patient records, and observe clinical signs accurately. When vision problems go untreated, the risk of mistakes increases, placing both patients and nurses under strain. Despite this, many nurses continue working without glasses because eye care is costly and rarely available in rural areas.
This project focuses on practical support that makes an immediate difference. By providing eye examinations and prescription eyeglasses to 100 female nurses, we aim to improve their daily work experience and patient safety. Each nurse will receive proper screening and glasses suited to her specific needs, along with guidance on follow-up care where possible. With clearer vision, nurses can work more comfortably, confidently, and accurately.
At this stage, the funds raised so far are not sufficient to begin implementation. Additional support is needed to cover eye tests, eyeglass production, and outreach to rural clinics. Although activities have not yet started, your early contribution is a vital step toward making this support available.
With continued backing, this project will strengthen frontline healthcare by ensuring that nurses can see clearly, work safely, and provide better care to the communities that rely on them every day.
