Visamo, a shelter home for underprivileged kids of Gujarat, strives to empower lives through education and environment that prepares the underprivileged children for a better future by providing them with equal opportunities. Currently, there are 96 children (54 girls and 42 Boys) from age 5 to 17 years, out of which only 58 children are sponsored. The cost of annual complete sponsorship per child is INR 60,000/- per child.Through project "SAMPARK" we shall be able to support 38 kids for a year.
Poverty remains a significant cause for many children not attending or dropping out of schools. Seasonal migration, lack of awareness amongst the poor, inadequate sanitation facilities, distance of schools from villages and an inconducive learning environment is what hinders them from going to school. Visamo Kids Foundation, a 'Shelter' home, provides a learning environment to the underprivileged children by emancipating them through access to quality education which is sponsored by our NGO.
Visamo Kids Foundation is unique in its conceptualization. From screening of the children to making provisions for boarding, lodging, medical support and helping them move towards academic excellence through quality schooling, our NGO aims to achieve holistic development of the kids. VKF, initiated since 2002 with the vision of providing equal opportunities to all children, strives to help these children realise their dreams by helping them study at good private schools providing quality education
Visamo is the forerunner of the Right to Universal Education. The children staying at Visamo are the ambassadors of change. The kids have been instrumental in the crusading against the social evils in their communities, like child marriage, alcoholism and have helped us in promoting the need of education, especially, girl child education. The students passing out of Visamo, are excelling in their academic fields & contributing to society through service to Visamo as volunteers & teachers.
