Dear Village Earth supporter,
The mission of Village Earth is to support grassroots organizations working on the front-lines of social and environmental justice through training, consulting and project support. This has been a busy year for us providing training in our online certificate program in Sustainable Communit Development (in partnership with Colorado State University) as well as supporting our 21 grassroots affiliates. I'm happy to announce the addition of our most recent affiliate, Ger Community Mapping project in Mongolia. The Ger Community Mapping Center (GCMC) is a non – governmental organization dedicated to sustainable, equal access urban development through community engagement and participatory decision-making. The GCMC, formerly a community group named Eco Friendly Community, has been doing community mapping activities in the ger areas since 2012. They promote community mapping as a planning, awareness and outreach tool to advocate for sustainable, participatory and eco-friendly solutions to address local urban problems.
Additionally we've been working on a project with the Indian Land Tenure Foundation to assess the lost agriculture revenue on alienated indian lands across the country. We hope to have some inital results from this work available by December.
In the coming months we will really be promoting our affiliates a great through GlobalGiving so please be sure to check on your favorite projects regularly for updates.
Thank you! We couldn't do what we do with you!
