Village Earth is excited to begin a new year providing training and support to so many amazing people and organizations around the world. 2019 will mark the 16th anniversary of our online certificate program in Sustainable Community Development offered in partnership with Colorado State University through which we train hundreds of people each year in how to be effective allies with local and grassroots organizations.
Another aspect of our mission is providing research and consulting services to organizations around the world. This year we were proud to partner with Thunder Valley and Sweetgrass Consulting to develop a feasibility study on developing a food hub and grocery store on the Pine Ridge Reservation. We partnered with the Indian Land Tenure Foundation to research the impacts of indian land cessions on Native Agriculture and look forward to expanding this research in the coming year. We also helped to assess reforestation efforts on the Pine Ridge Reservation and Madagascar.
Of course, we also continue our ongoing support of our Global Affiliates providing fiscal sponsorship, fundraising support, outreach and tecnical support to help them be more impactful in addressing the root causes of poverty and powerlessness in their respective communities. None of this work would be possible without the support of people like you, so we humbly thank you for your ongoing support!
Sincerely,
David Bartecchi
