Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project providing food via vegetable gardening to those affected by the conflict in Marawi. The conflict has indeed displaced a lot of civilians and most of them has not recovered yet. The rebuilding of the city will take so many years. Meanwhile we encouraged the evacuees especially those staying with their relatives to implement vegetable gardening in order to generate income and have constant supply of fresh food. This reporting period, a total of 120 families have already their own home-gardens and constantly harvesting vegetables. It is indeed encouraging to see so many different kind of plants growing. We encouraged some of them to process their harvest into high-end products especially hot chili which is a specialty here. Hot chili is turned into dried chili powder and chili flakes. This is a winner in terms of market here.
Again, thank you very much for your generosity.
With much gratitude,
Cora Sayre
