Long-term impact for Vanuatu + Invitation

ACTIV Association
ACTIV Association

It has been more than one year since Cyclone Pam struck Vanuatu, and the GlobalGiving community have provided much-needed recovery and rebuilding for people devastated by the storm. Your support has led to lasting positive impact for affected people. Through your donations:

  • ACTIV rebuilt the roof of two classrooms of the St-Joseph School after they were blown away in the cyclone in Vanuatu;
  • Global Vision International Charitable Trust partnered with Wan Smolbag Theatre (WST) to provide shelter and food to over 250 community members who lost their homes;
  • IsraAID distributed water, farm and garden kits for all villages in Tangoa Island, and provided psychosocial first aid to survivors

This fund will be closing but if you would like to continue to support other disaster relief and recovery efforts, you can find information about GlobalGiving’s response here:

Because you have been committed to supporting relief efforts not only at the onset of the storm, but months after to insure long-term impact for a stronger and more resilient Vanuatu, we would like to invite you to a special event: From The Front Lines: GlobalGiving Disaster Response Panel.

Your support has made it possible for GlobalGiving’s nonprofit partners to provide immediate and long-term relief for communities impacted by past disasters, like Typhoon Haiyan, and recent disasters, like the earthquakes in Japan and Ecuador, the Nepal earthquakes, the Ebola outbreak, and the Syrian refugee crisis. At this event you’ll have the opportunity to hear from the organizations you have supported and disaster responders’ first-hand experiences.

Please RSVP by May 16th. Click here to learn more and RSVP.
