Most of the building materials for the reconstruction of the women workshop arrived at Melsisi mid June with the wood and the corrugated iron for the repair of the roof. The building materials with the timber and roofing costed 454,366 vatu and the shipment was 45,310 vatu so a total of 499,676 vatu ie approximately USD 4,345. The Alliance Française of Port Vila with Solidarité Vanuatu covered the funding of the materials and the funding from GlobalGiving covered the transport to the island of Pentecost.
Construction has then started and the wooden structure has been completed. They are installing the roofing.
With the building materials more goods requested by the women were sent:
- 30 solar lamps 20 400 VT
- 17 mats 11 560 VT
- 3 saucepans 30cms 9 870 VT
- seeds 2 890 VT
- 18 blankets 6 000 VT
- 24 T-shirts 9 840 VT
- 2 mattresses 6 000 VT
- 2 files 600 VT
Total value: 67 160 VT ie USD 584
Even the seeds send early April are now giving veggies ready to harvest !
